Police officer, man with assault-style weapon fatally shot in Detroit
DETROIT — A Detroit police officer and a person wielding an assault-style weapon have been fatally shot on town’s west aspect Wednesday night time, Detroit police Chief James White stated.
White stated the officer and his accomplice responded about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to a name of a person firing a weapon. He stated when the officers arrived, they have been met by the person, who was armed with an assault-style weapon and firing of their course.
White stated one officer was struck and his accomplice returned hearth, fatally hanging the person. The struck officer was later pronounced lifeless at a hospital.
